The Department of English, a post graduate and research arm of the PRIST, is buttressed by a well furnished library of classics, modern and current literature and has a team of efficient and qualified young teachers, prioritizing self development of the learners. The mission of the department is to teach, along with literature and other life-related literary materials, a systematic spoken and written skills and to turn out the young graduates to be the best products by any test and trial of value and worth. A radically modernized curriculum is under active preparation for the state-of-the-art teaching material and methodology. Promotion of fluent spoken and written skills by proven methods will be the core area of the syllabus and a stringent result oriented package of communicative English is the hallmark of the proposed language-teaching programme.
Traditional British Literature of yore, forming the background, contemporary literary trends and schools spanning over the English speaking world including the third world countries are given appropriate place and relevance.
